MANISTIQUE – The Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s 2020 Love Lite Tree Campaign has begun and will continue through Dec. 4.

The money donated goes to fund medical scholarships for local high school graduates and buying needed hospital equipment.

By donating $3 per name, residents can give back to the community while also honoring family and friends. Residents may list family and friends to honor or memorialize.

Officials say it is important to designate if the names are to be in memory of loved ones or friends who have died, or to honor living friends, coworkers or family, or military personnel.

The list of names can be placed in an envelope along with $3 per name and mailed to SMH Auxiliary, PO Box 71, Manistique, MI 49854.

Residents may also pick up a Love Lite Tree envelope at any of the following locations: Putvin Drug Mart, the greeter’s desk at SMH, and the Rural Health Clinic.

There will also be forms in the Advisor. To have a loved one’s name read at the ceremony, submit names and donations by Nov. 25.

Due to pandemic restrictions, the ceremony will be virtual this year and live streamed on the SMH Facebook page Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
