Local blood drive planned as need in UP critical

MANISTIQUE – A Blood Drive for the U.P. Regional Blood Center is set for June 3. Note that the drive will take place in the Hiawatha Township Hall on Highway M-94.

It will run from 1-5:15 p.m.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center is currently experiencing a severe, critical need for O-negative, A-negative, A-positive, B-negative blood types.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center has collection sites in Marquette, Hancock, Escanaba and is the primary supplier of blood to 13 UP hospitals.

Currently, the Marquette Center is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesdays and 7 a.m.-4 p.m. on Fridays.
