Neighborhood Watch plans; positive OPD interactions

This month, South Eola continues to focus on safety. We’ve been working with Orange County to continue providing PPE to residents and neighborhood businesses, and we visited Orlando Police Headquarters to meet their new recruits.

The event offered an opportunity for the new officers to share their backgrounds and goals working in the community as well as ask questions about South Eola, our work and our goals as a neighborhood association. They wanted to hear about issues that are important to us, and, much like the National Night Out block party, it was an opportunity to meet and not have the only interaction with an officer be during a call for service.

While we wait to hear if National Night Out will happen this year, we’re coordinating with the OPD Neighborhood Watch Unit to hold a Neighborhood Watch meeting online, where we plan on starting a Dog Walker Watch program. As always, stay tuned to and for news and events.
