Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa, a restaurant in the Mills 50 District, was featured on The Cooking Channel in June.
With pickup, delivery and catering options, as well as a mouthwatering home-cooked menu, it’s no wonder the hole-in-the-wall restaurant captured the attention of the Cooking Channel’s “Food Paradise” series.
In a special episode of “Food Paradise” titled “New ’Cue on the Block,” the show outlined the many different flavors and Asian twists that Pig Floyd’s creates in every tasty bite of their food from the smoked ribs to the street corn and buttered chicken tacos.
“It’s obviously a great experience to be showcased as a brand on a TV channel,” said owner Thomas Ward. “It was really positive for us and gave us great exposure. We’ve gotten some visitors in who are die-hard fans of the program and saw us on the show and wanted to check us out.”
