MANISTIQUE – Ellen Louise Gould, 79, lifelong resident of Manistique, Mich., died on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at her residence with her loving family at her side. Ellen was born on July 23, 1940, in Manistique to Oscar and Elsie (Jones) Jasmin. She attended and graduated from Manistique High School. The former Ellen L. Jasmin, married the love of her life, Leonard Gould in Manistique, on Nov. 2, 1957. Leonard preceded Ellen in death on Feb. 21, 2009, after 51 wonderful years together.
Ellen was employed at Rainbows End of Manistique for many years. She enjoyed restoring vintage Rupp Snowmobiles, going camping, doing yard work, deer hunting, was an avid volleyball player, loved going on girl’s weekends with her daughters, but most of all, was so very proud of and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons; Alan (Amy) Gould and Korie (Jani) Gould, both of Manistique; and Lonnie Gould of Novi, Mich.; daughters, Karen (Mark) Lambert of Gaylord, Mich., Cassandra (Dennis) Rezmer of Standish, Mich., Jodie (Dan) Martin, of Freeland, Mich., and Kathie (Toby) Klarich of Manistique; brothers, Lyle (Glenna) Jasmin, of Colorado, and Fred, Frank, Joe, and Dale (Laurie) Jasmin, all of Manistique; and sister, Janet (Bob) Lebresh of Manistique. Twenty grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
Besides her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brent Gould; granddaughter, Beth Lambert; sister, Shirley Swigert; and brothers, Art and Terry Jasmin.
Services for Ellen Gould will be held at the convenience of the family and interment will take place at the Hiawatha Township Cemetery.
